There are three (main) things to check. Please note, if you need to change any setting, make sure you record the change so you can put it back when you have finished using the wireless network.
1. You have a wireless capable device with wireless switched on.
2. You will need to set your wireless device to obtain an IP address automatically (DHCP)
3. Your web browser or other application should not have any "Proxy Server" configured, it should be set to "No Proxy" or "Directly to the Internet".
For details on where and what these settings are, have a look through this PDF containing screenshots.
Settings to check when connecting to the wireless network
Once again, if you have to alter any of you devices setting to get on this wireless network, note the changes, so you can reconfigure them when you have finished.

The Wireless network is accessible during library opening hours using a wide range of devices.
The Wireless Network at Rangioroa Public Library is accessible from within the walls of the library, and there may be areas just outside the library that also get some coverage, but the closer you are to the centre of the library, the stronger the wireless signal will be, giving a better network speed.
We have tested with numerous devices, and have found that a device just needs an active wireless network card or adapter to pick up the wireless network.
Due to the large number of wireless devices on the market, we cannot guarantee that every wireless capable device will be compatible with this wireless network.
No. The Aotearoa Peoples Network provides this Wireless Network free of charge for anyone wanting to connect to it.
We have implemented some limits in the amount of traffic and the hours of use, but this is to minimise abuse of the service.
We have content filtering enable, and have anti virus software installed on the network, but it is up to the individual to take responsibility of their equipments security and safety.
If you feel uncomfortable putting your device on a public network, then it is up to you to deside if you wish to do so.
The Aotearoa peoples Network, and Waimakariri/Rangiora Library takes no liability if your equipment gets compromised while on this wireless network.
